  • Malignant causes of superior vena cava syndrome include non-small cell cancer (50%), small cell cancer (25%), lymphoma (10%) and metastases (10%)
  • The following are indications for emergent radiotherapy:
    • laryngeal oedema and obstruction
    • brain oedema
